About Disc Golf Setup
What we do
Disc Golf Setup builds free, data-driven tools to help new players figure out what disc to buy first.
We started this site after watching too many "What disc should I buy?" Reddit threads end with bad advice that sends beginners home with a Destroyer they can't throw. We thought there should be a calmer place: real flight numbers, real prices, recommendations that actually match the player.
How we work (AI disclosure)
Disc Golf Setup uses AI assistance to draft and maintain articles, disc descriptions, and tools. Every piece of content is reviewed against community-standard recommendations and real flight numbers from official manufacturer sites before publishing.
What that means in practice:
- Flight numbers are sourced from each disc's official manufacturer page (Innova, Discraft, MVP, Trilogy, Discmania).
- Prices come from Infinite Discs, the largest online disc golf retailer.
- Recommendations are cross-checked against r/discgolf community consensus — the same advice you'd get from a player friend, just organized.
- Reviews happen against three perspectives: a brand-new beginner, a casual recreational player, and a hostile expert who plays multiple times a week. If any of them flag a recommendation as wrong, we rewrite.
What we don't do
- We don't sell anything yet — we're a free decision tool.
- We don't run display ads.
- We don't track you. No accounts, no email forms, no cookies.
- We don't generate fake "best discs ever!!!" hype. If a disc is wrong for you, we say so.
How we make money
When you click "View at Infinite Discs" and buy a disc, we earn a small commission (about 7% of the sale). It costs you nothing extra. Full disclosure →
Eventually we plan to sell our own disc golf accessories (bags, towels, scorecards) under the same brand. That's a year out at minimum.
